Why we built it
Every December the same thing happens. Someone volunteers to organize the gift exchange, writes names on scraps of paper, and then discovers that one person drew themselves, two partners drew each other, and three people are working from home and can't reach into the hat.
Online tools fix that, but many of them ask everyone to create an account, hand over an email address, or sit through ads and newsletters just to find out one name. We wanted something simpler.

Nobody should have to sign up for anything to buy a colleague a present.

The draw runs in your browser. We don't have a database of your names, so there's nothing for us to lose, sell or leak.

Nobody draws themselves, exclusions are respected, and every person gives and receives exactly once.
💸 Free, forever
No premium plan, no paywall. Drawing names should never cost money.
How it works under the hood
When you press Draw names, your browser shuffles the participants and finds a valid assignment that respects your exclusions. It then builds one link per person. Each link carries that person's match, packed into the part of the address after the #. Browsers don't send that part to the web server, so the matches travel only between you and your group.
The trade-off is that we can't resend a lost link or change a draw after the fact. We think that's a fair price for not holding anyone's data.
